Shafaqna Pakistan: Since the rise of China as economic giant,US feeling threat of loosing its status as super power. China also dented US’s economic and military interests across the world, be it was Hong Kong, CPEC, South China Sea, Taiwan issue or deal with Iran.

Infact it challenged US in international arena to secure its interests at any cost. US always feared that China may dethrone it from the statues of Super power but there is a famous saying that” War is the only way to become a super power ” and history is also evident that to become a Super power you will have to defeat the existing Super power in the world. So the question is that Is china ready to wage a war with US?

The recent escalation has between the two adversaries has alarmed the world.China has ordered the closure of the US consulate in the south-western city of Chengdu, in a tit-for-tat escalation between the two countries. China said the move was in response to the US closing its consulate in Houston, and accused staff in Chengdu of meddling in its internal affairs. Tensions have been rising between the US and China over several key issues. President Donald Trump’s administration has clashed repeatedly with Beijing over trade and the coronavirus pandemic, as well as China’s imposition of a controversial new security law in Hong Kong.

Increasing risk of war

The risk of a military conflict between China and the US is higher than ever as communication channels between the countries’ armed forces have fallen largely silent. The souring of relations between China and the US – now at their worst in more than 40 years – has led to increased speculation the shouting match between the global adversaries could turn into a shooting war, one that will drag in other countries.

Over the past two years, frictions between China and the US – both nuclear armed and with two of the world’s biggest armies – have ranged from trade disputes to human rights, technology theft, Taiwan, and control of the South China Sea.

Earlier this month, the US conducted an air defence drill in the South China Sea, involving two aircraft carrier groups led by the USS Nimitz and USS Ronald Reagan, “in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific”.

The US has also dispatched reconnaissance aircraft and electronic surveillance planes that approached China’s coast numerous times in recent weeks, activities which drew sharp rebukes from Beijing. So far both the countries are cautiously playing their cards but like the world war I both are sleepwalking into hot war that would definitely turn into world war III.
