Thatta Water Supply Case: Zardari’s Indictment Deferred Till August 7

The indictment of former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardri in Thatta Water Supply Corruption Case has been deferred till August 7.

An accountability court on Wednesday (July 15) decided to indict Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari in Thatta water supply reference via video link on August 4 (today)

Earlier Former president filed a petition in accountability court challenging Thatta water supply corruption reference against him.

Zardari’s lawyer Farouk H Naek filed the petition against the reference requesting the court to stop indictment proceedings against the former president in Thatta water supply reference.

According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the instant case pertains to the illegal award of a contract by the Special Initiative Department for water supply scheme, Thatta to a private contractor, Harish & Co.

In Dec 2019, Asif Ali Zardari was released after being granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Dec 11, last year, on medical grounds.
