COAS briefs Japanese minister on recent activities about COVID-19 in Pakistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Japanese Defence Minister Taro Kono had a conversation through video teleconference on Thursday.

According to the declaration, both the leaders discussed the role of the global defence administration in preventing COVID-19. General Bajwa also briefed the Japanese defence minister on the recent activities and initiatives in Pakistan.

Gen Bajwa and Taro Kono also discussed defence cooperation between Pakistan and Japan.

The Japanese minister wrote on Twitter, “Teleconference with General Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan.”

Earlier, Egyptian ambassador to Pakistan Dr Mahmoud El-Said called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ).

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the matters of mutual interest, bilateral ties, cooperation in various fields and other issues were discussed in the meeting.

The ISPR stated that both the leaders expressed satisfaction over the existing state of cooperation between the two countries. The Egyptian ambassador lauded Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.
