Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 8-wickets in the third Twenty20 International to clean sweep the series on Tuesday. The hosts reached the target set by Zimbabwe in the 16th over to secure the series.

Spinner Usman Qadir was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding bowling performance in the first inning. Opener Abdullah Shafique top-scored for Pakistan with 41 runs off 33 balls. He hit 4 fours and 1 six in his inning. Khushdil Shah supported his efforts with a quick-fire 36 off 15 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 3 fours.

Zimbabwe had set a humble target of 130 for the hosts to chase down in the first inning. The visitors managed to score 129 runs after losing quick wickets initially.

Usman Qadir starred for Pakistan by picking up four wickets and giving away only 13 runs. For Zimbabwe, CJ Chibhabha was the top-scrorer with 28-ball 31.

Zimbabwe earlier won the toss against Pakistan and decided to bat first at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. They made four changes from the last game, bringing in Craig Ervine, Milton Shumba, Faraz Akram and Wellington Masakadza for the last match. They replaced Richard Ngarava, Sikandar Raza, Tendai Chisoro and Sean Williams.

Akram and Shumba are making T20I debuts.

Pakistan brought spinner Imad Wasim, fast bowler Musa Khan and batsman Abdullah Shafique. Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz have been rested.

Shafique, who turns 21 later this month, is making his Twenty20 international debut.

Pakistan are eyeing to clean sweep Zimbabwe in the three-match series. The Green Shirts downed the visitors in first two matches by six and eight wickets at the same venue.

Zimbabwe are looking to spoil Pakistan’s party by winning today’s match and stopping the hosts from whitewashing them, just like they did in the one-day international (ODI) series by emerging victorious in the third contest.

This will be Zimbabwe’s first win over Pakistan in T20Is if they manage to win today.
