The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) tendered mass resignations from the Sindh provincial assembly today. Resignations of 51 Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MPAs were submitted in Sindh Assembly. It is also learnt that MQM is planning to resign from National assembly and senate as well. Giving reasons for their resignations, MQM lawmakers alleged the party has been targeted by the Sind government under the garb of targeted operation for eliminating criminal elements in the city. The MQM leader said that there were hundreds of fake cases registered against the party chief and workers. As MQM party members earlier staged a protest outside the National Assembly, Farooq Sattar had told reporters the party would go to the assembly first and then to the Speaker’s chamber. If MQM resigns, and if those resignations are subsequently accepted, it would see by-elections on almost all the provincial and national assembly seats in Karachi.
