Pakistan’s policing system is incompetent and ineffective to the core. It has failed to curb the crime and criminals. It is quite hilarious that Pakistan has number of forces in multi-faceted system. KPK, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan have their own type of forces to stop the crimes. In Balochistan the famous policing system is Levies system, which is even incompetent to the Punjab Police. Levies lack proper training and personnel development, as a uniform, cohesive force. The Turbat incident is not the first of its kind. The government has neglected its duties to build a security force that can ensure the security of the labourers against terrorist firing. The inhuman treatment meted out to them shows the insensitivity of the government. The Prime Minister was not satisfied with the Interior Minister’s performance, then why he was retained in the Cabinet? Does the killing of 20 laborers stir their conscience ? It is not sufficient to compensate their loved ones with money. Who will replace their warmth and caring embrace? Someone should be held responsible for this atrocity. How long we can ignore such lapses of judgment and blunders of incompetence?
The prime duty of any government is is to maintain the law and order situation. If a government fails to maintain it, it has not legal and moral right to rule over. The provincial Government of Balochistan has failed to establish its writ and in providing security to the innocent people. How long such incident would continue to happen. CM Balochistan must move towards constittueting a vigilant force and address the greiveances of people of his province. He should also mobilize his people against separatist who are maligning name of the Baloch and causing hurdle in the way of peace and progress of the province.
