Shafaqna Pakistan: The Bharatiya Janata Party passed a resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the three agriculture laws.

The resolution came after a meeting of the party’s office-bearers called just before crucial assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, senior party leader Raman Singh, a former chief minister of Chhattisgarh, said the party at the meeting of the office-bearers, also thanked the Prime Minister for “his stellar role in steering the country out of the coronavirus crisis”, the “progressive” union budget, and implementing other progammes of the government such as the Swamitva Yojna.

Singh, who is also BJP’s national vice-president, also blamed Opposition parties for keeping alive the agitation against the three farm laws, “even though”, he says, “the majority of farmers were in the favour of the laws”, calling the farmers’ protest “politically influenced”.

“Farmers of the country are happy with the laws. The laws are being welcomed in different parts of the country. I think there is a conspiracy by Congress and Left parties to keep this agitation alive,” he said.

About the upcoming assembly elections, he said party functionaries “expressed confidence that the BJP will win the election in West Bengal”.

“We are also going to win the polls in Assam, ” he said

The meeting was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and started by paying tributes to those who lost their lives due to the coronavirus pandemic.
