For a long time the horrible pictures of Burma’s Muslims annihilation and genocide made the world grieved and upset. At least 1000 people were killed and more than 125,000 made homeless as mass arson, looting and cold-blooded murder erupted between ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and stateless Muslim Rohingya. HRW accused Rakhine groups of instigating the bloodshed and the state authorities of allowing them to continue unabated.
At that time when the Burma’s Muslim neighbours were struggling to respond, Saudi Arabia had thrown money at the problem. It had fallen to Turkey to act decisively by further extending its newly found benevolence to the Islamic world. As images of the Turkish prime minister’s wife sobbing as she witnessed the effects of the violence herself began to be passed around online – further cementing the Rohingya cause to the long list of Muslims’ suffering – Muslim prayers had bemoaned the global silence as proof of the grand conspiracy against Islam. And yet little is being done by Muslims to actually reverse the treatment of their purported brethren themselves.
The same Sudia and its allies were quite quiet on horrendous killings of Rohingya Muslims but when it came to Yemen, it has responded at once because it was harming its national and regional interests. The same Saudis were silent on brazen killings of Palestinians are now out against the Houthis. When it come to Saudia, it starts propagating about protection of holy places but why it forgets its role when non-muslims inflict killing and maiming to Muslims?
