Pakistan urged the United Nations to take notice of civilian casualties due to the constant ceasefire violations by Indian forces, Radio Pakistan reported.“India violated the ceasefire agreement thirty-six times in July,” Pakistan’s permanent ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi wrote in a letter to the President of UN Security Council.
She then urged UN to play its role on ‘implementation of ceasefire agreement.’ Further, she stated in the letter that “about 20 citizens were killed while 97 others were injured as a result of unprovoked firing by Indian forces in August.” Pakistan has on many occasions highlighted its concerns pertaining to ongoing ceasefire violations.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif warned India not to mistake Pakistan’s silence on the neighbouring country’s ceasefire violations as a sign of weakness.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also gave documentary proof of Indian involvement in acts of terrorism in Balochistan and FATA to US President’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice during her visit to Pakistan and we would urge him that these should also be presented to the United Nations when Nawaz Sharif addresses the world body. In the meantime Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi may also share the information with diplomats of major powers at the United Nations to expose the real Indian face that is indulging in propaganda war against Pakistan by blaming it for being behind every act of terrorism in that country. It has also been disclosed that RAW has established 20 sleeper cells in Karachi and four of its agents arrested recently have disclosed that they are being operated through agents in Canada and Malaysia. Pakistan strongly believes that all these proofs should be given to every country to tell the world about Indian nefarious designs against Pakistan. In the meantime Pakistan should urge the UN to implement its charter that the framers had prepared after a great deal of efforts for maintenance of international peace and security and India is violating it by not allowing the UN Military Observers to visit its side of the LoC.
