Shafaqna Pakistan: Asian Development Bank has approved loans worth $1.733 billion for Pakistan in 2020 including $800 million to combat pandemic and $235 million for bus rapid transport system for Karachi.
Asian Development Bank, in its annual report stated that the bank provided two loans to strengthen the country’s finance sector and improve trade competitiveness and export and a $300 million policy-based loan will help develop competitive capital markets and a second $300 million subprogram will improve trade and international competitiveness.
The bank further said that it supports Pakistan renewable energy systems and water supply facilities and will also monitor crops of the country as the data can help assess the performance of Pakistan’s food security institutions. The plan is to help build a long-term and sustainable food security system, ADB added
