Sindh decides to further increase coronavirus restrictions

Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Monday has chaired a meeting of anti-coronavirus task force in Karachi.

According to details, the participants have decided to stricken the restrictions in Hyderabad and East Karachi. The government will not tolerate violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs), the CM reiterated.

Murad Ali Shah further directed the concerned authorities to implement the precautionary measures to control the third wave of the infection.

The decision came after Pakistan reported 79 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 834,146. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 18,149.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 4,213 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
