Finally the judicial commission to probe into 2013 poll rigging has started its working. In its first meeting the head of the commission, incumbent CJP has demanded the parties to provide the supporting material to substantiate their claims. The formal hearing of the case would be kicked off from tomorrow. On the other hand a case has also been filed against the constitutional status of this commission but after the presidential ordinance, this application carries no weight. The commission has to reach a conclusion after taking stock of all the allegations, complaints and material from all those political parties that have taken part in the previous general elections. No doubt it might be a taxing exercise to decide whether the elections were held impartially, honestly and without any systematic rigging plan. All accusing and defending parties have been invited to share their views along with respective evidence to end this longstanding political gridlock.
Some corners have raised voice over the forum chosen for this task. Most of the judicial experts are of the opinion that it is not a suitable forum for this issue and this issue should have been resolved through some military commission or through Election commission of Pakistan.
The focus of the entire country is on this commission because it would decide whether the incumbent government is legitimate or not. However, constitution of this commission has helped a lot to clear the political confusion and chaos from the country.
