SHAFAQNA PAKISTAN (Shia News Agency) – Pakistan has launched a ferocious drive against terrorism and after Zarb.e.Azb, Now in parallel Pakistan army is conducting operation Khyber 1. On the other hand rangers have been arresting terrorists indiscriminately. Meanwhile KPK police have also stated a 100% conviction rate. Intense fight is also going on in Tirah Valley and number of terrorists has been killed. According to Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa outlined Pakistan Army’s successes in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, revealing that 263 terrorists have been killed so far in Khyber Agency’s Tirah Valley in a series of Tweets.
Indeed these news are something to cheer for a nation that has been worst struck of terrorism and it has given a new hope to the nation that Pakistan would succeed in eradicating this menace, however the rational question is that is possible? If militants have been pushed against the wall claimed by Pakistan army and law enforcement agencies, then why mosques, imambargahs and churches not secure yet? Infact the problem lies within difference between Political leadership and military. On one hand Pakistan military is toiling hard against the hardcore militants, but at the same time political leadership is giving free passes to terrorists like Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, are allowed to be free men. Thus it proves that dual behavior of political leadership is the main hurdle in curbing militancy. Until military and political leadership is on the same page, we cannot get rid of this menace.
