The federal government on Friday released its first set of statistics relating to the National Action Plan to combat terrorism in the country.
According to the numbers, 20 terrorists have so far been executed out of which 14 executions were carried out in Punjab.
Five terrorists were executed in Sindh, while one was hanged till death in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The governments of Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have so far not supplied this information to the federal government.
According to the statistics released today, 958 terrorism suspects have been arrested from Punjab, 244 from Sindh, 234 from KP, 188 from Balochistan, and 235 suspected terrorists have been arrested from the federal capital Islamabad.
In Punjab, 436 individuals were identified for making hate-speech, out of which action has been taken against 329.
Similarly, out of the 17 people identified in KP for making hate-speech in KP, 10 have already been arrested.
2,837 cases have been registered in Punjab and 1,471 suspects arrested in Punjab for illegal use of loudspeakers, while 14 suspects have been arrested from Islamabad for the same charges.
Other provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK have not yet supplied this data.
Hate material was confiscated from 1,085 locations in Punjab while 41 shops were sealed by authorities on similar charges.
Meanwhile, authorities have registered 166,000 Afghan immigrants in Punjab, while other provinces and regions have yet to release this information.
According to the statistics, law enforcement agencies carried out 5,487 search operations in Punjab, 322 in Sindh, 1,223 in KP, 12 in Balochistan and 275 in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has urged all other provinces and regions to implement the National Action Plan in the manner similar to Punjab.
Sharif said that the federal government will provide all provinces with the required resources, while it will also provide them will the funds to improve their capabilities.
