It is a norm for Pakistanis to not only consider the distance between two places while travelling but also keep in mind the time wasted in traffic jams. Unfortunately, building underpasses and deploying traffic inspectors could not solve this issue. We always ended up late at the office. Google Maps finally understood our misery and introduced the live traffic feature in Pakistan.
As of now this feature is only available on selected routes but we are hopeful that by the passage of time, it will be activated in all major parts of Pakistan. The situation of traffic is to be judged by a coloured overlay on top of major roads. The green colour indicates normal flow of traffic, yellow represents slower traffic conditions whereas red brings us the bad news of extremely slow speed of traffic or no movement at all. Pretty much like the way our traffic lights work.
In order to get latest updates regarding the traffic situation of your required route, all you need to do is press the “traffic” button from the drop down menu which will enable the feature. Just enter the name of place you need to get to from your departure venue and be informed about the trouble you are likely to go through.
We hope this feature will help you escape the wrath of bumper-to-bumper traffic and make you reach your destinations on time. Do not use the app during driving though. Have a safe drive.
