Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left for Riyadh on Thursday on a scheduled visit to inquire about the health of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi king has reportedly been in poor health.
Prime Minister Nawaz will convey good wishes and prayers for the king’s early recuperation on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and its people.
The Foreign Office said that the premier will also hold talks with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
Both the leaders will exchange views to enhance relations between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
Moreover, cooperation in the economic, defence and security sector along with increasing manpower from Pakistan to the kingdom would also be discussed.
Prime Minister Nawaz’s visit to Saudi Arabia is the third high-level contact between the two countries in less than a year.
