SHAFAQNA PAKISTAN (Shia News Agency) A joint session of Pakistan parliament held to discuss the Yemen crisis and legislators were asked to give deliberations on the issue of Yemen. After the key Saudi request for troops , Jet fighters and Naval fighters as told by Khawja Asif, Aitzaz Ahsan rightly demanded of more clarity on the demands of Saudi monarchs. With the arrival of PTI in the parliament, there was a good chance to discuss this issue in the presence of all the stake holders but some members of incumbent party seize the opportunity to lambast PTI. Even the defence minister who was there to discuss something most important than political rivalry, could not restrain himself. It seemed that Prime Minister has unleashed them to torn apart PTI. The focus of this joint sitting is Yemen. There must be no childish efforts to divert attention from this matter. Everything else is by comparison of little consequence, and it is not becoming of senior parliamentarians to resort to the name-calling and petty behaviour they indulged in. This is, of course, all the more true given that working out a strategy on Yemen is the key reason for the joint sitting. The effort should then be to evolve a national consensus on this important issue rather than resorting to actions that serve no useful purpose and have no place beyond the school playground. What happened in the Parliament’s session was an utter childish attitude which conveyed a message to the world that Pakistani legislators are still immature and needs to learn a lot. It would be certainly disappointing for Saudis who were waiting an outcome after the joint session of Pakistan.
