Farhatullah-Baber-680x418ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Senator Farhatullah Khan Babar on Thursday expressed concern over what he said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman’s refusal to meet the prime minister.

Speaking in the Senate, he claimed that a meeting was scheduled between the prime minister and NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry for Thursday.

The meeting, he said, couldn’t take place after head of country’s anti-corruption watchdog refused to meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

While asking for reason behind the cancellation of the meeting, the PPP Senator asked whether a conspiracy being hatched to derail democracy.

He said NAB chairman’s refusal was contempt of the Chief Executive of the country. Later, a spokesman for the prime minister said there was no meeting scheduled between the two personalities.

A couple of days ago, Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf publically reproached the NAB for harassing the government employees.-SAMAA
