Does Pakistan’s really need elections? Shahab Akhter

Who says there is no consistency in Pakistan, I do not see any truth in this claim. I can prove it with real and historical examples. Start with the establishment of Pakistan and start with Liaquat Ali Khan after a few months. The only condition is that you study the real history of Pakistan instead of studying Pakistan. For the past seven decades, Pakistan has been consistently ruled by the same organization, which sometimes directly dominates us and sometimes becomes a taut ruler for them. This is not my analysis alone but history has sealed it.

The two major political parties of the country, namely, the Muslim League-N and the People’s Party, which agreed on the Charter of Democracy, have also admitted that they have been used against each other. Then senior journalist Murtaza Ali Shah broke the news of the ‘London Plan’ in which ISI chief General Zaheer Salam and others had decided in a meeting with Imran Khan, Tahir ul Qadri and Chaudhry Shujaat that the next puppet Imran Khan will be. After that, from Imran Niazi’s 126-day dharna till today, political affairs have become more transparent when Iqama came out of Panama and judicial martial law was enforced. Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, who called himself Baba Rahmate, proved to be a troublemaker for the democratic system.

During General Bajwa’s rule, the Imran Niazi plant was grown with imported fertilizers and purified water, until it got out of hand. Finally Bajwa Sahib admitted in the last days of his tenure that in the past we have been interfering in politics but now we have changed and become political so embrace us by shedding our past pap in the Ganges. DG ISPR General Babar Iftikhar and DGISI General Nadeem Anjum also spoke in the famous Zamana press conference. Nadan Panchis like our people once again believed that since Bajwa Sahib has admitted his mistake, forgive all his mistakes and move on.

But who knew that this confession and apology that came out from Bajwa Sahib, it will be felt that with his retirement he will also retire. In the current situation, it again feels that the source of power and authority is the same as it was for the last seven decades. It’s just that once again the keyboard warriors have changed and the hybrid system is now busy facilitating someone else’s. All these things are not directly proven at present, so I can’t accuse him with 100% certainty because I belong to a middle class and poor family and I hold my career and life somewhat dear. .

This question came to my mind because a few days ago caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar went to a session of students in Limz University. Like the old used keyboard wielders propagandized, he was exposed within two days and was exposed by state broadcaster PTV. This is what these old keyboard warriors have been doing for the last four years for their handsome leader who had the full support of the then Niazi government and powerful circles of the time.

These Tehreek-e-Insaf YouTubers and so-called paid activist-like journalists were making noise on social media by putting Imran Khan’s picture along with pictures and videos of Limz University students and playing songs in the background. To put it in the language of ‘Woor’ when the students of Limz gave an interview and denied the paid journalist-like workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf by saying that they had any connection with Imran Niazi and that they did not like him. Rather, they are influenced by caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.

On the other hand, a dramatic situation was seen in the history of elections where the Chief Election Commissioner, who refused to meet the President directly, rushed to meet the President on the court order. Thus, the role of the President is also becoming very suspicious because there are reports that Arif Alvi had a secret meeting with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.

Well, the drama in the history of the elections was that the Election Commission had given the date of 11 February in the Supreme Court, but only to satisfy his ego or as a result of the fortune-telling of a Bengali sage or aunt, the President took into account the ‘constitutional supremacy’. Keeping only three days difference in the date and everyone was happy when the date was fixed. The fact is that three days earlier or later, according to the constitution, the 90-day period has passed, so why do all the parties seem to agree on it?

Just a day ago, a senior anchor of a very big channel even said that it is being decided that the presidency and the foreign ministry will be given to the People’s Party and the prime ministership and the rest of the cabinet will be with the Muslim League-N. In the elections, Niazi Sahib will remain bound and Tehreek-e-Insaf will be given a weak opposition. The recently formed pressure group will be supported by the incoming government i.e. Muslim League-N.

In this scenario, if Rati Par is the reality, which will surely be, because I have already said at the beginning of writing that we Pakistanis are very persistent, this is what has been happening here for seven decades. So if this is true, then do us a favor that when everything is settled, impose all these on us without any election drama. Why should we spend 70 to 80 billion rupees on this drama called elections, the result of which we already know? We will be more happy to invest this 70 to 80 billion rupees on the people, instead of throwing this nation’s money into the furnace of exhibition elections to save a so-called democratic tradition.

Anyway, we are helpless people who could not say anything during ten years of dictatorship, where leaders were hanged, shot, sentenced, disqualified and exiled. When we can bear all this helplessly and keep silent in front of you and say Amen to everything you say, then we request, request and plead to the Holy Prophet to let these elections go ahead, asking for the safety of our lives. We will say Amen to your formula this time too, just skip the elections and spend our 80 billion on us.
