Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Moulana Fazl ur Rehman expressed reservation over the National Action Plan (NAP), saying the mention of word ‘seminaries’ in the plan was a clear indication that it would be used against them.
According to a statement issued here, Moulana Fazl said he was finding it difficult to understand that against whom the military courts would actually be used.
“We had given Pervez Musharraf one year in a uniform under the Legal Framework Order (LFO) and what a big crime it was declared”, Fazl said, adding, however, ‘we had introduced the eighteenth amendment to redeem ourselves. It is a question, he said, as to how the present government would rectify its mistake.
“Coalition partners of the incumbent government were also not satisfied over its decision to set up military courts”, JUI-F chief claimed.
He advised the democratic institutions to exercise caution while taking tough decisions and steps.
