Despite Israeli-imposed restrictions, approximately 40,000 Palestinian worshippers gathered at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem for Friday prayers, according to the Islamic Endowments Department.
Israeli police maintained a strong presence, deploying forces around the mosque’s entrances, alleys, and external gates, while further limiting entry for Palestinians from the West Bank.
Earlier on Friday, thousands also attended the Fajr (dawn) prayer at the mosque, despite similar Israeli security measures. Al-Aqsa Mosque remains a significant religious and political site, with access to it often becoming a flashpoint in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
