President Asif Ali Zardari affirmed that terrorists would be defeated and the writ of the state ensured in Balochistan. He made these remarks while chairing a meeting in Quetta on Wednesday to review the province’s law and order situation.
Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also attended the meeting. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti briefed the participants on measures taken by the provincial government to maintain security.
Addressing the gathering, the president said terrorists aim to divide the nation, but they will not be allowed to succeed. He asserted that the state will prevail and Pakistan will win the war against terrorism.
The President said that modern arms would be provided to the Counter-Terrorism Département and other law enforcement agencies to strengthen the security forces.
He vowed to accelerate development, prosperity in the province and establish peace in the province. The President expressed his desire to see every child of Balochistan enrolled in school.
