Pakistan Prepared to Receive Citizens Once India Allows Crossing: FO

The Pakistan government on Thursday expressed readiness to receive its citizens if Indian authorities permit them to cross the border, amid growing humanitarian concerns following India’s revocation of visas issued to Pakistani nationals.

Responding to media queries regarding the use of the Wagah border crossing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said, “We are open to receiving our citizens in case the Indian authorities allow them to cross the border from their side.”

Highlighting the distress caused by India’s visa policy shift, the spokesperson noted, “Many patients with fragile health were forced to return without completing their treatment. Additionally, there are troubling reports of families being split, with children separated from one of their parents.”

“The last date to cross over through the Wagah-Attari border was April 30, 2025. In that context, we are aware of the media reports indicating that some Pakistani nationals are stranded at Attari.

“We are open to receiving our citizens in case the Indian authorities allow them to cross the border from their side. The Wagha border will remain open for Pakistani citizens in the future as well.”
