The civil and military leaders Friday resolved to hunt down terrorists without discrimination as the Peshawar school tragedy has forced the authorities to fine-tune the counterterrorism strategy. 
This was decided at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the GHQ after a threadbare discussion on the security situation. Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif, senior military officials, Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar attended the meeting.
ISI Director General Lt-Gen Rizwan Akhtar gave a detailed briefing on the security situation. The meeting also focused on the  Zarb-e-Azb operation and the future course of action.
Gen Raheel also took the meeting into confidence about his discussions with the Isaf commander and the Afghan authorities. 
According to informed sources, role of TTP chief Mullah Fazlullah in the Peshawar attack also came under discussion as he is believed to have approved the terror hit. 
The meeting agreed that no leniency would be shown in execution of terrorists. It was also decided that security on the Pak-Afghan border would be tightened in order to stop cross-border movement of militants. The meeting also decided that the operation being conducted in North Waziristan and Khyber would be expanded and militant hideouts would be targeted in Tirah Valley of Khyber as well as in other tribal areas in the next stage of Zarb-e-Azb.
The PM assured the armed forces that all necessary resources, information and cooperation would be extended for the elimination of terrorists. The PM also assured the military leaders that required amendments would be made in anti-terror laws.
It was also decided that intelligence-sharing between civilian and military intelligence agencies would be strengthened.
The army chief left for Khyber Agency after the meeting with the prime minister and met the soldiers and officers engaged in Khyber One operation. The army chief was also given a detailed briefing on the progress made in the operation. The army chief also gave instructions to the troops on the ongoing operation against militants.
