Guru Nanak’s 556th Birth Anniversary Celebrations Begin today

The 556th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, commence today (Monday), according to Dunya News.

Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan and abroad are gathering in Nankana Sahib to participate in the festivities honoring their first Guru.

During their visit, the pilgrims will pay respects at key religious sites including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Narowal.

The main ceremony marking Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary will take place at Gurdwara Janam Asthan on Wednesday.

All arrangements related to security, transport, accommodation and food have been completed, by the special teams from the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

Meanwhile, Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has also issued visas to tweny-one hundred Sikh Yatrees from India to participate in these events. Sikh Yatrees will arrive today via Wagah Border.
