The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has terminated the services of Women’s National Team Head Coach Mohammad Wasim following the team’s poor showing at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
In a statement, the PCB confirmed that the search for a new head coach is underway and reiterated its commitment to strengthening women’s cricket at all levels.
Wasim, who was appointed head coach in 2024 with full authority, failed to register a single victory in the tournament. Pakistan lost four matches, while three others were abandoned due to rain.
Despite the defeats, the team delivered impressive bowling performances against top sides like Australia and England, showcasing potential.
All of Pakistan’s seven matches were played at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium, where they suffered losses against India, Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
