Türkiye has firmly dismissed Indian media reports claiming that Ankara played a role in the recent car bombing in New Delhi, which killed 12 people and injured more than 20 others.
Turkey’s state news agency Anadolu reported that the country’s Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) issued a statement rejecting what it described as unfounded allegations circulated by some Indian outlets.
The DMM stated that assertions accusing Türkiye of supporting terrorist activities in India — whether through logistical, diplomatic, or financial means — had no basis in fact.
The Turkish Directorate of Communications also shared screenshots of social media posts from two Indian media organisations that accused Ankara of “radicalising sleeper cells” and aiding global terrorist networks.
The directorate condemned the reports as part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at damaging bilateral relations between Turkiye and India.
“The claim that Turkiye is involved in extremist activities targeting India or any other country is completely misleading and unfounded,” the statement said, adding that such propaganda sought to undermine Ankara’s ongoing efforts to promote international peace, security, and stability.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed that all those responsible for the Delhi car bombing will be brought to justice, while Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered a full-scale investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
