The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that all nominated banks will remain open today (Saturday) to facilitate applicants of the 2026 Hajj scheme in submitting their second installment of dues. Today marks the final day for pilgrims to deposit their payments.
The ministry has urged all intending pilgrims to ensure they receive a computerised receipt after depositing their dues. Officials say the receipt is essential to avoid any inconvenience or potential issues in processing Hajj applications, helping ensure a smoother and error-free workflow.
Under the government Hajj scheme, Pakistani citizens are guided through each step of the pilgrimage preparation process, with the ministry providing structured procedures, advisory support, and various packages to assist them throughout their spiritual journey.
The scheme includes the traditional 38-42 day package, as well as a shorter 20-25 day option, with estimated costs expected to range between Rs1.15 million and Rs1.25 million.
The first phase of the scheme kicked off in early August this year, receiving more than 70,000 submissions from eager Pakistanis. The second phase started on August 11, with applicants advised to hold on to their Pakistani passports until November 26, 2025, at the least.
The Hajj scheme functions on a first-come, first-served basis. With the payment of dues complete, successful applicants will be able to begin their sacred journey.
