With winter approaching, fears are growing over escalating food insecurity across Afghanistan.

Several struggling families, describing the difficulties they currently face, have called on aid agencies and the Taliban authorities to provide support before the cold season intensifies.

Shad Khan, a Kabul resident, told TOLO news: “I leave home at 9 a.m., earn two to three hundred Afghanis, and then go back. I need assistance; the Taliban should help.”

At the same time, the UK’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan stated on X that 15 million people in the country are experiencing food insecurity and stressed that immediate action is needed.
