Around 60,000 Palestinians performed Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, arriving from the early morning despite strict Israeli military restrictions imposed by Israel on access to the holy site.
The Islamic Waqf Department confirmed that approximately 60,000 worshipers attended the prayers.
Local sources reported that Israeli police were deployed among the congregants during the Friday sermon, as well as at Bab al-Hadid, Bab al-Majlis, and Bab al-Amoud.
Authorities tightened security at Al-Aqsa’s entrances, stopping and searching young men, checking identification documents, and preventing some from entering the mosque to pray.
