In Central Kurram, security forces successfully repelled an attack by militants on the Chinarak police check-post, according to police officials.
District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram stated that four militants were killed and six others injured during the exchange of fire, while two police officers were martyred in the operation.
Local sources reported that the attackers set the Chinarak check-post ablaze, and the gunfight between militants and police lasted for several hours.
The DPO added that additional police units were immediately dispatched to the area, engaging the militants in a three-hour-long, courageous operation.
Mohsin Naqvi pays tribute
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the police for eliminating four militants, lauding their professionalism and timely response that foiled the militants’ plans.
He also paid tribute to the two martyred policemen and expressed heartfelt condolences to their families.
