Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has said that her brother is being held in solitary confinement and that the family is unaware of his current condition.
Speaking to the media outside an anti-terrorism court, Aleema Khan said warrants had been issued against her a day earlier, while the judge was on leave on Friday. “We had requested time until Monday, but our plea was not heard,” she said.
Responding to a question about a photo circulating on social media, she said the image was authentic but dated.
Aleema Khan reiterated that Imran Khan remains in solitary confinement and claimed the family has no information about his well-being. She also accused the government of failing to comply with court orders, saying they no longer have an effective forum to present their case.
She further claimed that the cases of Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan were deliberately not being scheduled so that they could not be granted bail.
Commenting on the situation in different provinces, Aleema Khan said it was a positive sign that the Sindh government was not blocking roads, whereas roads were being blocked in Punjab due to the absence of a government with a public mandate. She described the Sindh government as “more sensible.”
