Russia Promotes Islamic Heritage Through Tourism Initiative

Shafaqna Pakistan:  Russia is preparing a new tourism initiative aimed at showcasing its rich Islamic heritage.

The project, called Izge Sukmak in the Tatar language—meaning “Sacred Route”—is designed to attract domestic tourists as well as visitors from Islamic countries in particular.

Sources involved in the initiative said the “Sacred Route” will offer a focused tourism pathway through regions of Russia where Islam has played an important role in shaping historical and cultural identity. The route will include visits to mosques, religious and historical Islamic sites, local markets, traditional cuisine, and natural attractions.
