Senate denounces recent attacks in Balochistan

The Senate on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, offering condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a swift recovery to the injured.

The resolution, moved by Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, also paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of security and law-enforcement personnel who continue to risk their lives to protect citizens and defend the country.

“It reaffirms the Senate’s commitment to peace, development, and political inclusion in Balochistan, recognizing that lasting security is closely linked to socio-economic progress, good governance, and respect for constitutional rights,” the resolution stated.

The House reiterated the resolve of the Pakistani nation that terrorism shall not be allowed to succeed, and that the unity of the state and the will of the people will prevail over all forces of violence, extremism and terrorism.

The Senate urged the government to ensure a transparent, swift, and conclusive investigation into the incidents and bring the perpetrators, facilitators, and local and international sponsors of terrorism to justice in accordance with law.

The House called upon the federal and provincial governments to further strengthen intelligence coordination, border security, and counter-terrorism mechanisms, with special focus on Balochistan.
