After Benazir Bhutto and his father Zulfiqar li Bhutto, the founder of the PPP, the party has crumbled. The husband of Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari tried to control the party affairs but failed. Most of the PPP’s people rejected Asif Ali Zardari because of his corruption stigma. However Asif Ali Zardari completed the tenure but resultantly party is divided into three factions. In order to garner the support of party workers, PPP played another gamble of launching Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Who for sometime tried to run the party affairs and to some extent he succeeded but after alleged differences with his father, he said to have been sidelined. Now there are news that PPP has decided to launch Bakhtawar as a replacement. Party sources told The Express Tribune, Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari’s second child is being groomed to take part in ‘real’ politics. Bakhtawar has started taking part in political activities and senior women activists have been asked to train her. Now the question is whether Bakhtawar could run the party affairs?
PPP has been controlled by Asif Ali Zardari and Kin. Faryal Talpoor that has great influence on party does not want Beanzir Bhutoo’s scion to lead the party. It is because of Faryal Talpur that Bilawal has taken a side.
There is another important thing that with the advent of Bakhtawar, a war for power will start between Benazir’s scission, as it was among Benazir Bhutto and her brothers. The quest for power led to the deaths of two brothers of Benazir Bhutto and finally her own. Now there is tug-o- war between Bilawal and his sisters, would the history going to repeat it????
