Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan, along with the United Kingdom and several Arab, OIC, and European members of the UN Security Council (UNSC), has reaffirmed its strong opposition to the annexation of any part of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) and the forced displacement of Palestinians, citing the UN Charter and relevant Security Council resolutions.
Speaking during a joint press stake-out, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, highlighted the group’s firm rejection of any efforts to change the demographic makeup, character, or status of Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
The statement also recalled that the Security Council has consistently condemned such actions, noting that they violate international law, undermine peace efforts, and contradict established frameworks, ultimately threatening the prospects for a just and lasting solution.
