There is no permanent friend or foe in politics, whether it is local or international politics. Same is the case with PPP and PTI. Both the parties are at loggerheads at national level politics but when it comes to local polls, PPP seems inclining towards PTI. Asif Ali Zardari’s PPP and Imran Khan’s PTI may be at loggerheads on the national political front, but at the local level, there seems to be some willingness to work together, reported Dawn. The local chapters of both parties are said to have established contact over the upcoming local government elections in cantonment areas and in an unprecedented move, are said to be considering a seat adjustment in the elections to the Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards.
The consensus between both the parties is w welcoming step and it is indeed a blowback for PML-N, that has been considered as the part and parcel of the PPP. If PTI and PPP agree upon a formula in LG polls both may extend this to national level politics. But observing the current trends of PTI’s politics this alliance seems impossible. PTI may reject alliance with PPP because of its old corrupt ways of politics. However PPP would try its level best secure a deal with PTI.
