Petrol prices set to decline in Pakistan after global oil drop

Shafaqna Pakistan: Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are set to drop sharply following a significant decline in global oil rates, industry sources reported on Wednesday.

International crude oil prices have fallen by up to 15%, raising hopes of substantial relief for domestic consumers.

According to sources, petrol could become cheaper by up to Rs55 per litre, while diesel prices may fall by Rs95 to Rs100 per litre.

The anticipated cuts come amid a broader global trend of declining energy prices, which has created room for adjustments in local fuel rates.

However, officials clarified that the final decision regarding any reduction in petroleum prices will be taken by Shehbaz Sharif after reviewing all relevant factors.

If approved, the move would provide significant relief to inflation-hit consumers and could positively impact transportation and production costs across the country.
