Washington always fought proxy wars in different lands of the world. From Vietnam to Afghanistan and From Iraq to Syria, Washington always used other forces and especially the non-state actors to fight US proxies. Similarly Washington has never stopped patronising and promoting the reactionary Saudi regime, even by condoning its gross violations of human rights for decades. The US’s ongoing support for Saudi-sponsored violent Islamist rebels in Syria may be mentioned in this regard. After decapitating Syria, US forwarded IS to wreak havoc in Islamic countries. They brutal forces of IS has done a tremendous damage to Iraq, Shiite Muslims and holy places. Apart from this killing of Christians and Western hostages is a key point because it would legitimises US boots on the ground, which would signal another windfall for its military-industrial complex.
US obsession with the Islamist regime in Iran and the Baathist regime in Syria is at the core of the IS problem. US support for the Free Syrian Army was a step towards strengthening Syrian rebels, including the obscurantist IS. By early 2012, US and Israeli armed and Saudi financed Arab mercenaries infiltrated into Syria in the guise of the Free Syrian Army. Infact US has is fighting proxy war of Israel and this proxy war has been outsourced to Saudia. Now it is upto Saudi monarchs to understand that they are not weakening Shiites but they are weakening entire Muslim Ummah.
