Shafaqna Pakistan: Saudi Arabia has introduced a new age restriction for Hajj pilgrims, barring children under the age of 15 from performing the pilgrimage.
According to a statement from the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA), the policy will come into effect on May 3, 2026, and pilgrims below 15 will not be permitted to travel on Hajj flights.
As a result, Hajj visas issued to underage pilgrims have been cancelled. Officials added that anyone who will not have reached 15 years of age by May 27, 2026, will be ineligible to travel for Hajj.
The PAA spokesperson said the change is expected to affect around 70 pilgrims from Karachi.
Saudi immigration authorities have instructed all airports to prevent underage pilgrims from boarding Hajj flights.
The PAA added that Saudi authorities have assured a full refund for all affected pilgrims.
