Saudi boosts Haramain high-speed rail for Hajj 2026 travel demand

Shafaqna Pakistan: Saudi Arabia has expanded the Haramain High-Speed Railway ahead of Hajj 2026 to improve travel between Mecca and Medina.

Saudi Arabia Railways has increased capacity on the network to over 2.21 million seats, aimed at handling the growing number of pilgrims.

This marks an addition of more than 210,000 seats compared to the previous season, along with 5,308 planned trips—an expansion of around 11% to meet rising demand.

The move is intended to ensure faster, smoother, and more comfortable transport for pilgrims during the Hajj season.
