One Constitution Avenue case under review; CDA provides details sought

Shafaqna Pakistan: The first meeting of a committee formed by the prime minister to review matters related to One Constitution Avenue was held on Monday.

The session was chaired by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. During the meeting, the committee sought detailed information on One Constitution Avenue from the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Sources said CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf and Member Estate Zaman Wattoo also attended the meeting. The chairman briefed the committee and presented relevant facts regarding the project.

The committee also requested another briefing from the CDA on the matter on Tuesday. While speaking to participants, Azam Nazeer Tarar said that after briefing from the CDA, those affected by One Constitution Avenue will also be heard through their representatives.

He added that the committee will review all legal and technical aspects before presenting its report to the Prime Minister. He said that the committee is aware of the written verdict of the Islamabad High Court.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Cabinet Division and the Secretary of Commerce also attended the meeting as committee members. The committee expressed its resolve to compile its report as soon as possible.
