Shafaqna Pakistan: Russia has called on the United States and Bahrain to withdraw a draft resolution from the United Nations Security Council that urges Iran to end its blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Russia’s state-owned TASS news agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov told Izvestia that Moscow cannot support the proposed resolution, which is also backed by several Gulf states.
Alimov said Russia was urging the co-authors of the US–Bahrain draft to withdraw it and avoid rushing the process, adding that Moscow does not currently see conditions for the document to move forward.
