Shafaqna Pakisatn: Thousands of Palestinians attended Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque despite Israeli security measures that reportedly restricted access to the holy site.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Administration, approximately 60,000 Muslim worshippers participated in the Friday khutba (sermon) and congregational prayers at the mosque compound.
Reports indicated that Israeli police prevented thousands of worshippers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque and restricted the movement of many Palestinians seeking to reach Jerusalem for Friday prayers.
As a result, a number of Jerusalem residents who were barred from entering the mosque were compelled to perform their Friday prayers in the streets of the holy city.
