PAK vs AUS ODI Series: Pakistan Defeat Australia by Five Wickets in First ODI

Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan secured a five-wicket victory over Australia in the opening One Day International (ODI) on Saturday, taking a 1–0 lead in the series.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and chose to field first.

Batting first, Australia were dismissed for 200 runs in 44.1 overs. Matt Renshaw top-scored with 61, while Matthew Short made 55.

Further contributions included 19 runs from Alex Carey, 13 from captain Josh Inglis, 8 from Nathan Ellis, and 7 from Oliver Peake. Three Australian batters were dismissed without scoring.

For Pakistan, debutant Arafat Minhas starred with the ball, claiming five wickets.

Abrar Ahmed took two wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Salman Ali Agha picked up one wicket each.

In reply, Pakistan produced a solid batting performance to chase down the 201-run target in 42.3 overs, losing five wickets.

Babar Azam led the chase with 69 runs, while Mohammad Ghazi Ghori scored 65.

Sahibzada Farhan contributed 28 runs, and Moaz Sadaqat added 8.

With the victory, Pakistan have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

The second ODI will be played on June 2 at Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
