Naqvi Outlines Measures to Ensure Peaceful GB Elections in Meeting with PM

Shafaqna Pakistan: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday and briefed him on the prevailing security situation, with particular focus on Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the elections scheduled for June 7.

During the meeting, Naqvi informed the prime minister about the special security measures put in place to safeguard the lives and property of citizens, as well as public places, during Eidul Azha.

The interior minister also provided a detailed update on the preparations and arrangements made by security agencies to ensure the peaceful, transparent, and orderly conduct of the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections.

He stated that a comprehensive security plan has been formulated to maintain law and order throughout the electoral process and to provide voters with a safe and secure environment.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, law enforcement agencies, and security forces to establish peace and stability in the country and protect the public.

The Prime Minister, while praising the efforts of the Interior Minister and his team for ensuring effective security arrangements for the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, expressed his resolve that the government would continue to take all possible steps to promote the democratic process and hold transparent elections.
