Shafaqna Pakistan: According to a report by the US media outlet Vox, relations between Pakistan and the United States have seen notable improvement, with Pakistan emerging as an important and unexpected partner of the administration of US President Donald Trump.
The report stated that Pakistan played a significant diplomatic role during the 2026 US-Iran conflict by facilitating communication, ceasefire efforts, and negotiations between Washington and Iran.
According to Vox, Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement, with Islamabad reportedly hosting the highest-level talks between the United States and Iran since 1979. The report added that both countries viewed Pakistan as a trusted intermediary and facilitator.
The report further noted that President Donald Trump publicly praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. It observed that, compared with his first term in office, the Trump administration has adopted a markedly different approach towards Islamabad, resulting in what Vox described as a significant shift in US policy toward Pakistan.
It further highlighted ongoing progress in counterterrorism cooperation and several strategic agreements between the two countries. Pakistan and the United States have also reportedly reached major deals in the cryptocurrency and rare earth minerals sectors.
According to Vox, shifting US strategic priorities have enhanced Pakistan’s regional and global significance. The report added that Pakistan has successfully maintained effective relations simultaneously with the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, strengthening its role in Middle Eastern diplomacy.
The publication observed that Pakistan has further consolidated its international reputation and influence through its contributions to resolving global disputes, positioning itself as an increasingly indispensable diplomatic partner on both regional and global fronts.
However, the report cautioned that excessive reliance on US support and persistent regional instability remain significant challenges for Pakistan despite its growing diplomatic prominence.
