Shafaqna Pakistan: The Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, Rudolf Heikal, has departed for Pakistan on an official visit, according to international media reports.
The visit comes amid increased diplomatic engagement in the region, with Pakistan continuing efforts to encourage dialogue between Iran and the United States against a backdrop of ongoing regional tensions. The trip is being undertaken at the invitation of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Media reports, citing a British news agency, noted that the timing of the visit is particularly significant given Pakistan’s reported role in supporting mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington.
The visit also takes place amid growing instability in the Middle East, where recent conflicts have had repercussions extending into Lebanon, further complicating the region’s security environment.
General Heikal’s visit is expected to include discussions on military cooperation and broader security dynamics at a time when regional diplomatic engagements are intensifying.
