Shafaqna Pakistan: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Zardari House in an important session held ahead of the federal budget.
According to sources within the PPP, the party has raised concerns over the inclusion and implementation of development projects in Sindh.
The meeting was attended by senior PPP leaders, including Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, and Sindh Minister Jam Khan Shoro.
Sources further stated that discussions mainly revolved around the development schemes for Sindh that are part of the upcoming federal budget.
During the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari directly conveyed the party’s reservations and concerns to the deputy prime minister.
Meanwhile, Sindh Minister Jam Khan Shoro also provided a detailed briefing to Ishaq Dar regarding the province’s development priorities.
Following the briefing, Dar assured the PPP leadership that Bilawal Bhutto’s concerns would be addressed.
Earlier in the day, a meeting between the government and PPP failed to resolve ongoing disagreements over the upcoming federal budget, with both sides remaining locked in negotiations.
Sources said that efforts remained continued from both sides to break the deadlock, as discussions remained underway regarding key financial and development-related concerns.
According to party sources, the PPP has raised objections over additional taxation measures involving provinces, subsidy allocations, and the distribution of development funds.
Concerns have also been expressed over funding shortages for major infrastructure projects, including the K-IV water project and the Sukkur-Karachi Motorway.
