Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has rejected the results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, alleging widespread rigging and announcing that it will issue a white paper detailing what it described as electoral irregularities.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, while addressing a press conference, called the elections “fake and rigged” and said the party would observe a “black day” in Gilgit-Baltistan on the day of the oath-taking ceremony.
He claimed that PTI had obtained Form 47 for three constituencies and insisted that the party was leading in eight seats with clear margins, which, according to him, were not reflected in the official announced results.
Barrister Gohar alleged that manipulation of votes and denial of citizens’ right to vote constituted an attack on democracy. He further claimed that pre-poll rigging was carried out and that PTI was deliberately excluded from the electoral process.
He added that the party would release a detailed white paper outlining its concerns regarding the electoral process and alleged irregularities.
The PTI chief also claimed that a significant portion of the population supported his party, though he did not provide independent verification for the figure.
The statement comes amid ongoing political debate over the transparency and credibility of the Gilgit-Baltistan electoral process, with opposition parties continuing to raise concerns about fairness and administrative conduct.
